Catalog of Dutch coins
The adoption of the euro in the Netherlands ended the circulation of the Dutch guilder (NLG), with an exchange rate of 1 EUR = 2.20371 NLG.
As in all countries ruled by a monarchy, even the Dutch coins represent the head of the sovereign, in this case the Queen Beatrix, with the inscription along the edge of the coins Beatrix Queen of the Netherlands (BEATRIX KONINGIN DER NEDERLANDEN) . The design of the euro coins Dutch is by Ninaber van Eyben, which produced two types: one for cents and one for the 1 and 2 euro coins. In all the coins are shown the 12 stars of the founding countries of the European Union and the year of minting.
Also in the Netherlands, as in Finland, the coins from 1 cent and 2 euro cents are produced only for collectors.
