Catalog of San Marino coins in euro
The Republic of San Marino is not a Member State of the European Union, but was allowed to use the euro as from 1 January 2002 because of links with the Italian State, as was done for Andorra, the Principality of Monaco and the Vatican. The euro replaced the lira San Marino (SML) at the conversion rate of 1 euro = 1936.27 SML.
The images of the San Marino parts are:
- 1 cent: Tower Montale;
- 2 cents: the monument of Liberty;
- 5 centimes: Tower Guaita;
- 10 cents: the Basilica of San Marino;
- 20 cents: San Marino represented by a portrait of Giovan Guercino;
- 50 cents: the towers of Guaita, Cesta and Montale;
- 1 euro: the cabinets of San Marino.
- 2 euro: the Public Palace.
The coins are minted in Italy by the home currencies of Rome.
